Bluebird
I made sure to leave a lot of space around the birds so they'd stand out. :)
Just working with simple shapes and colors. Ever see any of the Ed Emberley drawing books? As a kid I loved how he could create anything from a horse to a pirate ship with just the simplest shapes. :D

Yes, very nice design. You can't underestimate the value of negative space, right?
I like your simple use of shape and color and your hard-edge design. Very nice illustration. Yes, my Trowbridge episodes are all hand-scribed.
Great, Andrew! I think it's very nice style for little children books.
Nice and cute! I usually forget to leave enough space around my work, I'm afraid.
These are really gorgeous. Your colour sense recalls Dick Bruna for me, though your style is different. Happy birds in their own space!
Thank you everyone, I very much appreciate all the great comments. :)
You're right Richard; negative space is a great tool in an artist's arsenal. :)
Ian: that old school retro style Bruna did for his book covers back in the day is pretty much what I aim for in a lot of my cartooning. :)
Love the simple shapes and bold colors! (Plus the birds are awfully cute!)
